EMPLOYMENT LAW FEES

FOR BUSINESSES

At ELP Solicitors we offer employers a knowledgeable and practical employment law service at an affordable price. We charge for employment law work by the hour. The reason for this is that when an employment law issue arises it is often difficult to predict the direction which it will take. Some issues are sorted out quickly and easily, while others can involve lengthy negotiations and complicated processes. Our standard fee rate for employment law work is £140 per hour plus VAT.

We endeavour to keep our hourly rate as resonable and as competitive as possible. We appreciate that it can be difficult for employers, particularly small and medium sized businesses, to afford to pay for employment law advice. We have therefore devised a unique fee charging structure which allows employers to benefit from a discounted fee rate. We call this our Employment Law Package. The ELP Solicitors Employment Law Package is of benefit to employers who need employment law advice in relation to a complicated or time-consuming matter, employers who need advice in relation to a number of matters, or employers who would like to be able to take employment law advice on an ongoing basis.

The Employment Law Package allows employers to purchase 20 hours worth of employment law advice in advance. These hours can be used for any employment law related matter, including drafting employment contracts and policies, advising on disciplinary proceedings and grievances, advising on ill health and retirement, advising on re-structuring and redundancies, advising on severance packages and compromise agreements, and even representation in Employment Tribunals. There is no time limit within which the hours must be used.

The Employment Law Package is paid for up front by the employer, but it is charged at a discounted rate of £2,100 plus VAT for the 20 hours worth of advice. This results in a discounted fee rate of £105 per hour plus VAT which is a discount of 25% on our usual hourly rate, and we find that our clients see this as excellent value for money for a high quality service in a very complicated area of law. If you would like to discuss our employment law fees, or any employment law matter, we would be delighted to hear from you at our Edinburgh office.
